Courses

Our Catechetical Year runs from 1st August to 30th June every year. There are six courses: 1st Confession (1 year), 1st Communion (1 year), 1st Year Confirmation (1 year), 2nd Year Confirmation (1 year), 3rd Year Confirmation (1 year), and 4th Year Confirmation (1 year).

Starting Ages:

1st Confession: 8 years. In other words, any child who has already reached or will reach the age of 8 before the beginning of June next year or is older than 8 years will be eligible.
1st Communion: 9 years. In other words, any child who has already reached or will reach the age of 9 before the beginning of June next year or is older than 9 years and has made his/her 1st Confession, will be eligible.
1st Confirmation 10 years. In other words, any child who has already reached or will reach the age of 10 before the end of June next year and has made his/her 1st Confession and received 1st Communion will be eligible.
2nd Confirmation: 11 years. In other words, any child who has already reached or will reach the age of 11 before the end of June next year, or is older than 11 years and has made his/her 1st Confession, received 1st Holy Communion and attended the 1st year Confirmation class will be eligible.
3rd Confirmation: 12 years. In other words, any child who has already reached or will reach the age of 12 before the beginning of June next year, or is older than 12 years and has made his/her 1st Confession, received 1st Holy Communion and attended the 1st and 2nd Year Confirmation classes will be eligible.
3rd Confirmation: 13 years. In other words, any child who has already reached or will reach the age of 13 before the beginning of June next year, or is older than 13 years and has made his/her 1st Confession, received 1st Holy Communion and attended the 1st,2nd and 3rd Year Confirmation classes will be eligible.

Please note. If there are any children who have already reached their 13th year or will be reaching their 13th year before the beginning of June next year and have NOT made their 1st Confession or received their 1st Holy Communion, we will have a special one year class for them so that they can join the Confirmation classes as soon as possible.

Venues & Times

1st Confession, 1st Communion & 1st and 2nd Year Confirmation:

St Mark's & St Nicholas': At St Mark's on Wednesdays at 6:00pm.
All Saints': At All Saints' on Tuesdays at 9:45am.

3rd & 4th Year Confirmation:

St Mark's, St Nicholas' and All Saints': At St Nichola's on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays at 5:30pm.
